Schedule a blank-screen period¶
The simplest way to keep a screen blank during a known period is to schedule a black-coloured scene over that period using the condition system. No special feature needed.
1. Create a black scene¶
In the channel, add a queue if you do not already have one, then add a new scene to that queue.
When picking a template, use the colour template that ships with CanvasPro. Set its colour value to black.
2. Add a Time Range condition¶
Open the new scene's Conditions tab and add a Time Range condition. Set the start and end times to match the blank-screen window.
The condition can be added to the queue instead of the scene if every scene under the queue should be blanked during that period.
3. Turn on domination¶
Set the queue or scene to use Domination mode so it interrupts whatever the channel is otherwise playing during the window. See Live override for the full domination model.
Gotchas¶
Force Live takes precedence over domination. If an operator force-lives another scene while the blank-screen domination is active, the domination's conditions are invalidated for the duration of the forced-live scene. This is intentional, so the forced-live scene plays without being interrupted.
